The full name actually is much longer: Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchaworamahaviharn. Named after the Aruna the Indian God of Dawn. One of the familiar sights in Bangkok.

The Great Somlo and parts of the Balaton – Zala wine regions

In our Wine Society we developed a kind of habit, we tried to visit those wine makers who visited us. The mission was Somló (Béla Fekete, Imre Györgykovács) and some wine regions around the lake Balaton (János Veress, dr. Károly Bakonyi and Papp Winery, Öregbaglas).

The Reunification Express, from Saigon to Hanoi

What a fantastic train ride this is if you make a break or two and see the scenery over the Hai Van Pass. Of course I was pushing it again, no break but the full 3 days (33 hours) yet I would do it again with a stop and with one or two bottles wines, only.

Szekszárd, in the search of Kadarka

Why not drop down for some tasting on a birthday, on my birthday to south Hungary? It´s actually work but if you get invited you should not disappoint people. And Szekszárd (Szekszard) has a special place in my hearth anyway. Underrated and not discovered by the people, but there is potential in sight.

I´m sure you all heard that proverb wine of king, king of wines. My only question is whether Louis the XIV. said it in French Le roi vins et et le vin des rois or in Latin Vinum Regum Rex Vinorum.

Friends of Wine in Tokaj, the first trip

I can tell you it was about time that I get myself moving to the most famous wine region in Hungary, the Foothills of Tokaj (Tokay).
