I like unique grape varieties, especially when they have a certain style, quality and can not be found anywhere else. Deep in the county of Zala, official name is Balaton-melléke (I hope they don´t changed it, while I’m writing this) wine region is a family estate which produces the Pintes, the Veress Family- Vinum Veress Estate.

Of course wine is one of them and the other one is the so called “sour” water, medicinal (mineral) water which made Balatonfüred very popular back in the days.

I got invited to some cellar, winery activities the day before New Years Eve, so I could say no as Tibor is also a good friend and his father does a nice Zenit wine as well. Meant to be for friends and private consumption only, hence no bottling in the real sense takes place.

In our Wine Society we developed a kind of habit, we tried to visit those wine makers who visited us. The mission was Somló (Béla Fekete, Imre Györgykovács) and some wine regions around the lake Balaton (János Veress, dr. Károly Bakonyi and Papp Winery, Öregbaglas).
